Love, love, love our new home!

We celebrated last night because Adam got his bonus!!! :) Check back later for more pics of the house.

Its been a little over 2 weeks since we have moved in our new home. Its the most awesome feeling knowing this is OUR place. I still can't believe we have such a beautiful house! We sure love it! What is not to love though?  Charlie now has his own backyard, and tons of space to roam around. He is one happy boy! He is so funny though, because he has to be in the same room as us. He is definitely an at your feet dog.

I sometimes forget that we have an upstairs. lol. I am not used to having SO much space. We bought a kitchen table and some couches for the front room from Ashley's, so we now have furniture for all the rooms downstairs. Our upstairs is completely empty. Adam does have his projector set up in the media room though with our camping chairs lol. He has been playing lots of xbox lately. Two of our guitars broke during the move, so we are going to need to get new ones if we want to play rock band or guitar hero. I personally like doing the dance games on the kinect the most.

Since I am jobless, I got everything unpacked quickly. Everything was unpacked and set up a few days after moving in. I haven't started looking for a job yet. I am not even sure if I am going to work full time, part time, or even at all. You read that right, I said or even at all. I am enjoying this break. I have explored Mckinney, gone to Lowe's and Home Depot frequently, done a lot of grocery shopping, window shopping, watched a lot of Ghost Whisperer, and have done some P90x.

I thought it was going to be hard to do P90x, but it really isn't. I have completed every single dvd that I have put in. The only one I have been avoiding is the chest one, because what girl feels she needs to work that area? I am sure I can handle the video, I just don't feel like doing that one. I have been rotating between the rest of the videos.

I haven't been doing them in order either. I started with the yoga dvd, and by the time I was done with it, I felt like I had been working out longer than an hour. I then thought well Pilates is slow so the time just goes by slower, but then I turned it back on to see how long it was and discovered it was and hour and a half. I really enjoyed that one, but no wonder it seemed like a long hour! I don't feel like I am going to lose any more weight. I lost a few pounds initially, but have stayed the same for a while now. I am not trying to lose weight. I do want to tone up though. I have just been doing zumba the past year, and my body needs something new. I don't do the dvd's everyday either. I initially did, but I have decided to just do them every other day. Who knows how long I will last doing this. I am already starting to get bored.

I have met a few people in the ward so far, and everyone seem really nice. They have a recipe club which I am excited about. I am sure I will start cooking a lot more, now that I have SO much time on my hands. The days use to seem so short when I worked 10 hour days. I now feel like I have all the time in the world. I know that will all change when we have a baby. I am thinking the second bedroom downstairs will not stay an office for very long, if you catch my drift.

We are just loving every minute of this new stage in our lives. Love, love LOVE our house! I especially love our large open kitchen. I have so much space which makes cooking so much more enjoyable. I need to update my cooking blog with lots of recipes. I never rush to do that though because I don't let people know anymore when I post a new recipe. If you want to know when I post something new, you will just have to follow my recipe blog. Mom, did you read that? I know you are like the only one who looks at it. lol. I did it for myself though. I wanted to make it easy for me to find recipes. I hated going through my printed off recipes, or trying to find the recipe again online. It took too much time. The same reason I love pinterest. You can save everything to one page. It makes life so much easier! However, I feel like Pinterest needs a search tool for each board. Sometimes it takes me a while to find stuff on there.

Anyways, just wanted to mainly say we love our new home!

Moving into our NEW house!

After weeks of paperwork, walk throughs, and patience, we are finally able to move into our new house! We have been pretty busy these last two months. Another Chiropractor was brought on in May, so I was extra busy managing the office for two chiropractors by myself. The office now has three women doing my job part time. I will miss the friendships I made at the office with all the patients, and miss the people I work for, but I will not miss working full time Mon-Sat. After this work week is over, I will be taking a LONG vacation from work. I am pretty excited about that. I need time to get settled into the house, and then I am flying out to CA to spend a couple weeks with my family :)

We close on Wednesday, and start moving this upcoming weekend. I wish we were done packing. We still have a ways to go on that. I just started packing the kitchen today. I have had lots of goodies to help me get through the packing, and I totally think it is worth any extra pounds I have put on. haha.

During the last two months we have enjoyed all these things:

Charlie's birthday was on the 23rd of this month. He is now 2 yrs old.

Father's Day!

Mother's day! My husband made me a home made card out of poster board. It was so sweet. The message inside made me cry (tears of joy of course). He is the sweetest guy ever.

I also enjoyed lunch dates with friends, a going away party, in door rock climbing for the first time (even though I almost fell to my death), Zumba with my favorite teacher (will miss her and my friends in that class), being showered with love and treats from my Beehive class (miss those girls already), and all the Sonic shakes after 8:00pm. Just shake it off! Looking forward to our new adventure out in McKinney.

Looky!

Our house is coming along nicely!! It actually looks like a home now. We went out this weekend to take a look at the progress, and to hang out with the Starr's. Great weekend! I can't wait until both of our houses are done :) Only 57 more days to go....

TOFW & Fort Worth Art Festival

I had a blast with these girls at Time Out For Women the weekend before last. I went a couple years ago with family, and this year I got to go with friends and family. My sister-in-law left early, so she isn't in our group photo. If you haven't been before, I highly recommend it! They give you a tote bag. It really is all about the tote bag. Once you go, you will understand what I am talking about. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed with the tote bag this year. My other bag from 2 years ago is much cuter. They slacked a little bit on that this year. The messages were great. The music was fantastic. I felt spiritually uplifted for sure. Plus, I got to take a day off from work. It was a great weekend.

We went to the Art Festival in Forth Worth this weekend (the biggest art festival in Texas). It was pretty sweet. The weather was perfect. They had SO many neat things to see. People from all over the U.S. displayed their art. I am glad we went, and I was happy to get out of the house and take a break from working on my talk that I gave Sunday. That was the second talk I have given in this ward, and we have only been in the ward a little over a year and a half. Adam gave his second talk in February. I am sure when we move, we will be giving talks in the new ward fairly soon. We have given talks every year since we have been married, but I wasn't expecting 3 within a 2 year period. Maybe we won't be asked to give talks soon. Not that it matters, I was just surprised. I actually enjoy preparing talks, because I learn SO much.

I am starting to get really excited about our house!!!

I CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE IN AND DECORATE!!! We are going to go see it this weekend :)

We are planning to go to a different art show Saturday. They have so many events here in Texas. Should be another fun weekend.

We just bought a HOUSE! :)

I know everyone already knows via Facebook, but I thought I would post it on blogger as well. I have been M.I.A lately, and its because we have been house hunting like crazy the past couple months.

We are SO incredibly excited that we officially own our first house :) We are so ready to get out of the apartment life, settle down, and start a family. This is exactly what it will look like, minus the grass in front of the garage ;) I got lots of comments on Facebook about that. lol

It has 5 bedrooms (we converted one to a media room), a game room, 3 bathrooms, and its 3,100 square feet. It will be ready the end of June. Building is SO fun. Charlie will be excited to have a backyard!

Here is the floor plan of the first floor:

I love that their is a bedroom right next to the Master bedroom. This will definitely be the nursery when we start having kids.

Towner Family Weekend

The Towner Reunion started this weekend. Chris and SeQuoia's family flew out from Ohio Thursday, and Sheila and Steve flew in Saturday from CA. Rachel and Aaron live 15 min away from us, so we can see them whenever. Its so nice when we are able to get everyone all together.

We went to the TCU vs BYU game Friday night when I got off work. The game was at the Cowboys stadium, so we were more excited to see what it looked liked than to actually watch the game. We all knew BYU was going to lose. They lose every year to TCU. They could have won this year, since TCU isn't very good this year. They made way too many mistakes though. Its hard to be a BYU fan. You want to have hope, but in the back of your mind you already know the outcome.

SeQuoia, Chris, Cameron

We took Adam's parents to the Best bbq place in Texas after we picked them up from the airport. Sorry mom and dad! Next time you visit we will take you here too. We didn't realize they had opened one in Denton, when they came out to visit in May.

I was told their cream corn is made with blue bell ice cream. It was SO good.

They have the best bbq ribs hands down

Afterwards, we meet the Saunders over at their ward's Trunk or Treat

Pretty creative costume

We stayed up watching the USC game, so we were tired this morning when we got up to take family pictures before church. Its always so nice when family visits! We get to spend more time with them Monday and Tuesday night before we leave on our cruise Wednesday!! :) I can't wait.

Texas State Fair

We were VERY brave this weekend. We decided to go to the fair on Saturday. Mind you, this was the same day as the Texas vs. Oklahoma game. I know, we are two crazy kids.

The verdict you ask? Well, it wasn't as crowded as we were expecting it to be. Its funny that people in Texas always say, "everything is bigger in Texas!" Well, going to the fair here made us realize that most people hold up to that standard. The fair grounds, however, are about the same size as the Del Mar fair in CA, with the exception of one giant Coliseum in the middle of  it.

Adam and I had a great time together. We ate some fried things for a change. I was surprised that we didn't feel sick afterwords. We did everything there was to do. We saw a couple shows, ate some fair food, walked around all the exhibits, bought some H&H salsa, saw all the animals, watched the parade, and held hands all day long. It was a great day! We stopped at IN-N-OUT on our way home. They have a few out here now. We finally decided to get our fix. Its just a delicious as I remember.
