Early Thanksgiving and other family fun! :)

Todd is my favorite uncle! I love this guy. He is so much fun. I want to go back to Maine. I've already been 3 times.

Brandon playing with Hailey and Cole. Hailey is a doll baby. She is so cute.

The boys watching football while waiting for the pizza. We went to my grandma's rehab center and had a family party.

Todd made a cute video of grandma throughout the years with all her children + grandkids.

We had to watch it twice. Everyone wanted to pause at every picture and point everyone out.

We went to Walmart to pick out our 5 dollar gifts for our Thanksgiving party, since we had all the family together. Obviously the white elephant gift is for Christmas, but this was the first time in 7 years that all the family was together.

Adam and I are kids at heart. We love to play and act silly. Adam almost ran me over with this.

This was my $5 gift

Can you guess what my mother's gift was? lol

Yup, that's my mom for ya!

My hot husband enjoying his Thanksgiving dinner.

                                                              Me and Lee

All the siblings

All the sibling's children. Yup, I am on my tippy toes.

This was the gift Adam opened. Everyone got a kick out of it because we are still considered the "newlyweds"

Brandon ended up with my mother's gift. It was a huge joke. He worried his mother a little bit because he fought for them.

Adam and Joseph enjoyed playing badmitten afterwards. I don't know who ended up with that gift.

Honour society and donuts

I love that my relatives from Maine are visiting. They do not have Krispy Kreme out there, so we decided to do a donut run a couple nights ago. We have been lucky the last two times we have gone there, their free donut sign has been on. SCORE! Yes, more please :)

Adam took this picture of me stuffing my face. I LOVE my krispy kreme donuts. I had to make sure I got all the one's I liked. Don't let this little body fool you. I eat like a tank! I have eaten 7 assorted donuts in one sitting before. Yes, I have a problem. ha. I need to get back to the gym. I was doing so well before Halloween and all our company arrived. Excuses, excuses I know. It doesn't help that I am in the middle of writing a 15 page research paper right now. Speaking of school, I only have like five more weeks. I am super stoaked. I got a letter in the mail a few days ago, from BYU,  letting me know that I am SMART! Yes! ha. Who would have thought?!? This is what it said:

Dear member Elect,

Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that, by placing in the top 15% of your class at Brigham Young University, you are invited to join Golden Key International Honour Society.

Golden Key International Honour Society is the world's premier collegiate honor society, with nearly 2 million members and over 375 chapters across the United States and around the world. A one-time, $70 membership fee entitles Golden  Key member access to a vast array of benefits including over $500,000 in member-only undergraduate and graduate scholarships, discounted study-abroad programs, exclusive internships and job opportunities, as well as leadership and networking opportunities worldwide.

Membership is by special invitation to students in all fields and areas of study. BYU has recognized you as one of the top-performing students in your class. Congratulations on your academic achievement and earning this distinct honor. We look forward to welcoming you as BYU's newest member of Golden Key International Honour Society. Use your personal online acceptance code below to accept the exclusive invitation in one of the following ways........etc.

They are holding a member recognition event for this years's new Golden Key members on December 1, 2009 at 5:30pm in the Wilkinson Center, Room 3220 (This means my parents might be able to go to it, if I join )

I haven't decided yet if I am going to graduate school, so I am still deciding if this would be worth doing. $70 is a lot for a starving student! I am leaning more towards yes, just because it would look good on my resume.

Yay for family/friend time :]

We had a fun weekend. We were able to spend a little time with Adam's best friend Cameron, and his wife Celine. We went out to breakfast, at IHOP, on Saturday. We all enjoyed their stuffed french toast. It's the only thing Adam and I ever get there.

Then Adam and I drove up to Salt Lake to spend time with Adam's family. His grandma isn't doing too well. She fell, and hasn't been eating. Adam's dad flew up from CA, because she might not live too much longer. All the brothers drove or flew down to be with her, which was nice. They took some nice family pics, and then we all went out to dinner at the Market Street Grill. We all got the Prime Rib special, which was delicious! It came with haagen daz ice cream =) I chose their carmel ice cream and fell in love with it. It is almost as good as their creme brulee flavor.

Cameron, Celine, Aaron, and Kaylee came over later that night and we played a fun board game called Compatibility. Cameron and Celine won (barely) ha. It's fun because you have to think about what your spouse would put in each category, with a random set of cards that have silly pictures on them. Our favorite was the picture of the old man with a hairy chest.

We played some Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour afterwards. Not only am I bad at taking pictures, I am bad at deleting them too. I only took a couple pics and two very short videos, cuz my memory card was full.

I stole this picture of Celine's blog. I really belt it out when I sing. It can get pretty exciting.

We went out to lunch at Cafe Rio on Monday with Cameron and Celine.

My relatives from Maine and Arizona are coming tomorrow. I am soooo excited!!! We are celebrating an early Thanksgiving with everyone on Saturday.

I never

I never EVER take pictures of Adam at any of his soccer games. I have learned that this isn't such a bad thing, because I don't know how to work my camera. Look how horrible these shots are. It didn't help that the lighting sucked in there.

Adam in his Manchester United jersey (he loves that team). The last picture freaks me out; his face is distorted. You are probably wondering why I even bothered posting these pictures. Well, first of all, it reminds me that I need to take the time to figure out the different settings on my camera. The second reason is that these are the only pictures I have of my baby playing soccer, and it brings back memories. He scored two goals this game, but of course I failed to get pictures of it. We are graduating and this was the last game of the season. We will never have this opportunity again :( Sad day.

Celebrating Halloween with Pie and Neon Trees

I started Halloween out right by making this homemade pumpkin pie. It was even better than last years! I tried out a new recipe, and I was very happy with it. Adam took a slice before I could get a picture of it. ha.
I made two pumpkin pies last year.

For a no fail pie crust recipe click here

Here is our doorstep display.

We visited my grandma in the rehab center, and brought her a slice of pie, before we took off to the Neon Trees concert. She ate one of those pies last year all by herself. She has a major sweet tooth.

Here we are waiting in the line to get into Velour.

The decked out stage. It is so small in there! Glad we got there at a good time. We were in the front row =)

Tyler Glenn

Chris Allen

The only two people I know in the band. We grew up in the same ward, and I was good friends with their younger brothers. They put on a good show. Adam and I rocked out like no other. Some of the other bands were pretty good too.

Halloween Fun

Our ward Halloween party was tonight. They served soup and salad for dinner. I was kinda hoping for chili and cornbread. They always had chili contest in my family ward growing up.  We tried to go all out with our costumes. My husband decided to by a vampire.

I don't know what to call myself here. Drag queen? ha. I was going for dark fairy.

I think the corset was a little much. It made me look bigger. I thought they were suppose to make you look slim and slender?!?

My husband likes my costume better without the corset. I think I do too. It was a little out of place.

Our pumpkin that we carved during the ward party a.k.a Jack. We are so original.

We were starving after the ward party, so we stopped by Rubios. We got there 10 minutes before closing. We thought they were closed when we pulled up. The Manager was outside, and looked like he was locking up. Adam started running towards him, in his costume mind you, shouting, "are you closed?". Adam kept asking this b/c the manager just kept staring at him with a blank look. The manager finally said they were still open. Adam thinks that the manager was afraid that Adam was trying to rob the place. I mean it was Thursday night. Who dresses up for Halloween two nights before Halloween, and goes to Rubios?

We took some pictures as we waited for our meal. All the people who were working at Rubios came out to see us in our costumes. A bunch of Mexicans popped out from the back. We were glad that we could provide some entertainment. The girl who took our order could not stop staring. She had Adam repeat our order to her, because she was so intrigued with our costumes that she forgot to punch it in the first time.

Overall it was a good Thursday night. Our night class was cancelled, so we had no school.  That is always a plus.  We are actually planning to ditch school tomorrow, so we can have a four day weekend. We both love Halloween..  We have been celebrating for the last three weeks now, by watching 2 scary movies each week. We have also eaten a bunch of candy. Adam ate 7 Reeses in one sitting, and then ate half of my king size payday bar.   We eat way too much junk. Idk how we stay skinny. I need to make pumpkin pie again this year. Maybe I will do that tomorrow.
I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT HALLOWEEN!!!!! :)

I actually enjoyed the winning AFV video tonight. Usually the winning video is super lame.

Good thoughts on a Saturday--well, technically Sunday

l love Saturdays for all these reasons:
*No school
*football games
*I have time to cook good, hearty, meals
*gym (the Zumba instructor on Saturdays is the best)
*Our movie marathons
*putting off all hw and studying till Sunday night
*having time to get the house in order and do laundry
*shopping
Then knowing that the next day is Sunday and that I get to sleep in!

Things We are looking forward to:
My parents and my uncle from Maine are coming to visit next month
Also, Celine and Cameron will be in Utah next month
In 9 weeks we will be done with school and moving to CA

I don't care if I get straight A's this semester (which takes away a lot of stress). I am still going to get good grades but there is a huge difference in amount of effort needed to get an A over and A- at BYU, and I really don't feel like putting in the extra effort.  This has to do with senioritis and the fact that we already walked. Also, it really doesn't matter.

This post is really random probably because its 1:40 AM +

Great places to eat and such (read the second update-its funny, yet strange, I put it in bold)

Our first favorite is OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE

The picture of the bathroom door is for Adam's mother. Her name is Sheila, so we took this picture to let her know we were reminded of her, during our recent visit (we sat right next to the restroom). The sign, not the restroom reminded us of her. ha.  Every time we go to Outback, we order the Outback special (even if our parents are buying b/c its our favorite). It's only 9.95 and comes with two sides. We both love the sweet potato. I mean just look at that goodness (To me, yams tastes so much better than sweet potato's idk why they call it a sweet potato at Outback). It tastes like candy, and melts in your mouth. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. ha. You might think that a 6oz steak is small, but by the time you are done with your meal you feel ultimately satisfied, and you are glad that you didn't order a bigger steak. This is another thing I am going to miss when we move back to California. They don't offer the special there. They do offer it in Texas though (we could possible move there in 9 months, so it could be relevant in the future). Adam went here on his mission a lot. I need to tell my brother!

Our second favorite is Red Robbin

They have the best fries. Their seasoning is key. I can't say they have the best burgers b/c I like Islands a lot better. Their food is amazing though. We love to go Red Robbin. I can't say they have the best wraps either b/c Winger's sticky finger wrap is my favorite. I like their clucks and fries and their seafood pasta.

This weekend we went to both. We went to Red Robbin, on Friday, after we went and saw the movie Fame. We both enjoyed watching this movie because it shows off everyone's talent in a fun way. Although, I must say,  I have become less of a fan of Kherington's dancing. She was kinda sloppy in the movie, and I just wasn't impressed with her. Its a good movie if you are into dancing, singing, acting, etc. Saturday we went to Outback after going to the BYU game. We were in a good mood because they won. However, we did get frustrated during the game because of all the penalties and two interceptions. In my opinion, Max Hall is a little overrated. Its almost a guarantee that he will throw an interception per game. "Stop with the risky passes already!" They won though and that's all that matters.

Updates:
So I got a new calling on Sunday. I am a publicity committee member for relief society. I have yet to figure out what that entails. ha. I think I am just suppose to make sure everyone knows about activities and to make the girls feel included (arrange to carpool over and such) idk. Anyways, its a cake job, so I am happy about it.

My grandma is in a lot of pain.  The rehab center she is in is a pretty nice place, not the best, but it could be a A LOT worse. It supposedly has gotten a 5 star rating the last 5 years.  However, I got a weird feeling as we were leaving the rehab center the first day, because there was a man laying in a hospital bed in the middle of the parking lot, with no one around. Not only was he in the middle of the parking lot, but he was towards the very back next to the dumpsters.  We waited in our car, for a while, to see if anyone would come out for this person. Nope! Needless to say, it kinda creeped me out. Was he in like time out or something? ha. They better not do that to my grandma! We are about to go visit her. We are just waiting on the cookies in the oven. Cookies are our thing. If you want some good recipes, let me know. Adam's cookies are divine. The one's I have posted are just recipes I have tried out for fun, and do not compare to Adam's. He is known as the cookie master in his family, and I definitely know why. Yes, my husband is awesome, he makes me the best cookies all the time.
