Del Mar Fair and Valley View Casino

Saturday we spent the day at the Del Mar Fair. We have gone every year during Fourth of July weekend, ever since I was like 8 years old.  Its a little tradition my family has, b/c my mom use to sell E'ola at one of the booths in the Bing Crosby Hall back in the day.
We invited Adam's parents this year to come with us. We had a good old time together. We arrived in the late afternoon and went through all the different buildings looking for fun stuff. I ended up finding some cute knock off Juicy Couture jewelry. They actually had it in the back for "serious customers" only. ha. I thought that was silly. I mean its fake, what's the big deal? I didn't have to pay tax and they knocked off a few dollars on each item b/c my mom is still a vendor. She just doesn't have to work at her booth anymore.
Gotta love all the fair food!!! We had already eaten lunch, but I had to get some sweet potato crisps and fries. I have already mentioned on my blog before that I am a potato lover. They were really good. I can never pass up Hot Dog on a stick's lemonade. It is the best, especially on a warm day. By the end of the day, we ate way too much fair food (cookies, fudge, beef jerky, nachos, bbq sandwiches, aussie potatoes, kettle corn), and I am sure I am forgetting something. I don't even want to think about it. We all felt sick.

We watched the monster truck show. They had a lot of technical difficulties this time around. I thought some of these people were seriously going to hurt themselves, especially the 15 year old.
Adam tried this soccer challenge. All odds were against him. They give you flat balls and had it designed for left kickers. It was fun watching him try :) He got close to getting one of them in the small net located on the left of the dummies head.
We had to get some type of ice cream, so on our way to the hypnotist we grabbed this ice cream sandwich dipped in chocolate, and sprinkled with oreos. A very delicious choice.

The hypnotist show this year got pretty nasty. ha. I am not talking about this picture. This was on the tame side of things. For example, a guy picked up the hypnotist and planted him on himself and started using some strong pelvic thrusts. They were basically having sex with their clothes on. The guy kept grabbing the hypnotist. It was getting a little out of control.

VALLEY VIEW CASINO BUFFET

They have a really good lobster buffet, and I thought it would be a good idea to go eat there this weekend. Um, hello holiday!! It was soo crowded. We signed Adam up for the players club. I am already a member, so I waited in line to get us reservations for the buffet while Adam waited in the players club card line. We got their around 5, and the first slot available for the buffet was at 8:30pm. We got out of the lines around 6:30.
Needless to say, we had a lot of time to kill. We ended up playing the slots. This was our earnings in the first two minutes. We played the penny slots. ha. We ended up buying those nachos with a little bit of it. Then we used the rest of the two hours to kill time with the rest of the money.

We met some Asians that were really nice. One of them couldn't believe that I weighed more than 95 pounds. I told him that I got muscle, and muscle mass weighs more than fat. He was like well ya, but you just are so skinny. Compliments are always nice :) He gave us a lot of tips for the stock market. He retired at 31, and has never worked since!! A lot of stuff he was telling us, most people wouldn't think about. It's definitely smart. The key is how you do it. He told us things to avoid. He even told us what we should invest in. The stuff that has made him a lot of money. We are talking about a million dollars and counting. We want to invest once we get out to Texas and get settled in. I love when people like to share their knowledge.

I didn't take a picture of all that we ate, b/c I am a little embarrassed about it. ha. The side dish of lobster/crab legs (eaten). You don't even want to know how much food I ate, so I wont say. One of the six plates of dessert I ate (they are on the smaller side, so I am not as embarrassed). I am a sucker for creme brulee. They have the best chocolate crepes, and they have really good chocolate melting cake. I put some cookies and cream ice cream on top with hot fudge. I have to say that was my favorite. Ya this buffet is definitely delicious.
