My hubby had a birthday!

Adam turned 28 last weekend. He wasn't all that excited about his birthday this year. I think its because he  is only a couple years away from turning the big 3-0. I still think he looks great for being 28!

His birthday dinner was at BJ's. We got our favorite pizza, and he got his b-day pazooki.

My homemade gift to him: 28 reasons why I love him

Charlie had fun helping him pop all the balloons to discover each message inside.

His real bday gift that we are still acquiring:

We hopefully will find the time to go out to Dallas and get a set. Adam has been working like crazy lately, and so have I (No surprise). Missionaries for dinner tomorrow night after work, and then baby sitting duty the following night. Hopefully next weekend!

Happy Birthday, Charlie!

Charlie is now a year old. Time flies. He got some new toys, and had a gourmet treat for the first time. I think he had a pretty good birthday, until we left him to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the USA vs Mexico soccer game. Oh, and I am pretty sure he didn't like taking a bath on his birthday either.

Twenty Seven.

The love of my life turned 27 on Friday. He thinks he is old, but I demur. I think its just because he is no longer in his early twenties, and getting closer to 30. Its okay babe, I am right behind ya. I'll be turning 25 this year. Wow, that means I am almost half way to 50. Is is weird that we still feel extremely young. I thought you were suppose to feel older/wiser and stuff with age. Adam and I both feel the same. Are we going to feel this way when we are 50 (young at heart)? I think that would be totally weird.

Here is my birthday boy! (Keep in mind its 11:00pm) I had just picked him up from the airport, so he was still in his dealersocket attire.

I was pretty impressed that I was able to fit so many things in that bag.

He has been wanting new gym shorts. I also crammed some Rusty shorts, Levi Jeans, and Four shirts on top of the rest of the goodies.

Some of the fun stuff. Didn't want to take a picture of everything.
Giant Gummy Bear

Erika would appreciate this. We use to eat it all the time as kids. I know Adam did as well, so I knew he would enjoy some.

Adam LOVES licorice. This put a smile on his face. A whole Yard! We ate a piece of licorice together. He started at one end, and I started at the other. We met in the middle and kissed, and it reminded me of Lady and the Tramp :)

Taffy Stash : ) This was to remind him of Orem, UT and our days living on BYU Campus

And the CAKE!!! My first Ice Cream cake that I have ever made. I was going to use regular cake, but we aren't the biggest fans of cake. Instead, I made a giant ice cream cookie cake. It was SOO good.

It was after midnight after we enjoyed a slice of his cake, so we went to bed.

Saturday we went out to eat for his birthday. He wanted to eat at Jersey Mike's, so we split a giant Chipotle Cheese Steak Sandwich. It was very good.

After lunch we went and saw

Adam had wanted to see it for a while, so we finally got around to it. We both thought it was okay. It was entertaining enough, but I had higher expectations.

Then we watched the BYU game with some awesome friends. Too bad they did horrible! Oh well, we had fun none the less. Overall, I think Adam had an okay birthday. We just wish we had more time to celebrate. This weekend we are planning to go out again :)

Adam I just need you to know that I will love you Forever, For always and no matter what, even when you REALLY get old :)

Where did time go?

My brother just turned 21 today!!! I can't believe it. He is the best brother anyone could ever ask for (and I REALLY REALLY mean that). He is always giving compliments, and makes people around him feel so good. He has a BIG heart. He cares so much about others, and is ALWAYS willing to serve. He is a great example to me. He has always been so strong in the gospel. Blake has never been afraid to stick up for the church. He influenced a lot of guys from his track team in high school to take the missionary discussions. He will continue to be a good missionary after the mish, b/c he was a good one before the mish. He knows way more about the gospel than I do. I am jealous of his photographic memory!!! The only thing he knows more about is SPORTS. Oh how I miss watching games with him. He always made things more exciting. I LOVE YOU JOSEPH BLAKE SIMPSON. I sometimes forget my brothers first name is Joseph. I am so use to him going by his middle name. I still can't believe my baby brother is all grown up!! He only has 23 weeks left on his mission. The countdown begins.

24 reasons why turning 24 this weekend was fun!

1. I turned 24 on our 24th day out here in Texas!

2. Unlike any other bday, my husband surprised me with a gift (at midnight) and was creative about it. Usually he just buys me something I tell him that I want. Can you figure out his message?

3. I got to try a fancy cupcake for the first time.Oh boy was it good!

4. For the first time, I was able to share my special day with my sweet father-in-law. It's kinda fun that we were born on the same day.

5. My wonderful mother-in-law got us some nice pots and pans + a new iron. Both were desperately needed. Thanks again Sheila =)

6. BYU actually cooperated and won a game for me! =)

7. Blowing out candles together with my father-in-law was very fun. Adam put candles on top of our turtle cheesecake in the shape of both of our ages combined.

8. Adam and I went to TGI FRIDAY'S for lunch. It brought back so many memories. My parents took me here every year for my birthday. It use to be my favorite restaurant. I would always get the Jack Daniel's Tower, before they got rid of it.

9. I spent my birthday with my handsome husband, my in-laws, my sister in-law, and her kids. Its so nice to have family close by. What  a perfect weekend to have the in-laws visit!

10. My family sent me a thoughtful birthday card with a $25 dollar gift card to OUTBACK. Yes!! Thanks family. You know I will enjoy that very much, and know exactly what I will order =)

11. Memory, my visiting teacher, presented me with a big plate full of these lemon pound cake thingies with a nice hand made card. They were very scrumptious. I ate way too many. I think there were 12-15 on the plate. That was what was left the next day.

12. My sweet sister-in-law SeQuoia sent me a nice hand made card with a thoughtful message, for my birthday. She is so sweet. It was the first card I received for my birthday.

13. I received mulitple birthday messages on my phone and facebook.I talked with my best friend for a long time on the phone.

14. I was able to enjoy a nice home cooked meal for dinner. Sheila is an expert for sure. It was very tasty. Usually Adam just takes me to a few places, so I don't have to cook on my birthday.

15. I was able to observe and watch Adam help his nephews learn how to ride a bike and play ball.

16. Got to play some fun board games with the in-laws. Of course, Adam kicked our butts.

17. Our family came over to see our apartment. It was fun to show someone our new place!! The kids liked the dog park.

18. I got an email from my brother wishing me a happy birthday! It was filled with compliments too of course! I was planning on visiting him this weekend, but the mission president told me no and my brother would be mad if I did it with out permission.

19. Was able to watch some Castle and 24 with my husband! He has been traveling a lot lately. Its hard waiting for him to get back to watch these! I am liking the second season of 24 so far. I hear it only get better from here.

20. Shot some hoops at our apartment. I made my first shot with my purse on. Its really heavy, so I was impressed. he he

21. No exercise took place the whole holiday weekend. It was nice to relax

22. We got a new vacuum!! It works great. That was all of the dust/dirt from living here three weeks without a vacuum. Pretty sick.

23. Went swimming and spent a lot of quality time with the family

24. My husband gave into the phrase, "well it is my birthday." lol

This picture is for Lorraine and Ashely Martin (inside joke). We found this hat in the mall, after we bought our vacuum.
