GREAT NEWS!!!

My husband got the job he wanted!!!!! He got the call tonight after we went out to dinner. He starts next Monday, and we will be relocating in 4 months. We are both SO excited =). I am looking forward to having MONEY, our OWN place, and living in a new state!! It will be great. I don't have to worry about finding a job down here which is another plus.

Tomorrow will be fun. We are going to Josh and Tiffanie's sealing in the morning, then celebrating part of our Valentines day tradition because we can't do it on Sunday.  I wish my camera hadn't got stolen or lost or whatever happened to it, so I could document it. Its been gone for 3 weeks now! Maybe I will borrow my parents camera? Anywhoo, I hope you all have a great Valentines weekend. Hopefully I will have some pictures up in my next post.

IM DONE/ disowned some family

I just have to let some excitement out. I finished my last final last night, and I am proud to say that I am officially a BYU graduate! YES!!! No more SCHOOL for me :) I graduated with honors too (top 15% in my graduating class). I honestly never thought that would happen, so I thought I would brag just a little. WHOO HOOO!!

I accomplished my life long dream, and now I can tell my future children that I have a degree. I have always valued education, and hope my children do too.

  NOW WHAT?!?!?
Well Adam and I have already moved! ha. We had to move during finals week. A little stressful to say the least. We moved in ONE NIGHT (stayed up till 4am moving). It was due to family issues. Ex family members (on my mom's side of the family) started tampering with our stuff (turned off our water heater and took our power cord for the internet, so we wouldn'y have any). I say ex because we officially disowned them. They said a lot of stuff that they now regret. They treated Adam and I so badly and pissed a lot of other family member off because of what they did. I just hate that they are putting my grandma in a home. They D.I.ed all her stuff and told her she can never live in her home again. They are control freaks and basically kicked Adam and I out because they couldn't wait 3 days (until finals were over). Oh and none of Grandma's siblings are allowed to stay there anymore, when they come up to visit. It's getting rediculous, but it's okay because we don't ever have to see or talk to them again. It's just too bad that people like to take their frusterations out on nice people. Adam and I still do not know why they did all that stuff to us. We never even see these people or talk to them, until family reunions or holidays.

ON A POSITIVE NOTE: Adam and I are leaving for Ohio on the 23rd! We really, REALLY, REALLY can't wait. Adam has the nicest family in the entire world. I feel bad that I can't say the same about some of my ex extended family. I just can't believe the way they treated both of us. If I wrote down everything they said you would be shocked, and i mean SHOCKED. This wasn't just they said some mean things. NO it was beyond AWFUL. A lot of people who heard what they did, say they are going straight to hell.

Anyways, after Ohio we get to move back to CA!!! I am so excited for warm weather!! I miss the sun. It has been a winderwonderland down here. I do not like the snow anymore! Its just too cold.

We have been in school/ finals mode and have even forgotten it's Christmas time. Christmas is in a week. That is CRAZY. Last night Adam and I went caroling at the cove point retirement center with our psych 330 class. It was so much fun. The old people there were so grateful that we came to sing to them. One cute old lady started blowing us kisses. We were offered Belgium chocolate by another lady. Afterwards, we went to our teacher's house for treats. I have never seen a more decorated house in my life. There seriously couldn't have been more decorations inside. We had a lot of fun. It was the first Christmasy thing that Adam and I have done this year (well besides going to temple square with my parents to see the lights-which by the way was disspointing this year b/c they cut back on lights. They probably only used half as many as they did last year).

Honour society and donuts

I love that my relatives from Maine are visiting. They do not have Krispy Kreme out there, so we decided to do a donut run a couple nights ago. We have been lucky the last two times we have gone there, their free donut sign has been on. SCORE! Yes, more please :)

Adam took this picture of me stuffing my face. I LOVE my krispy kreme donuts. I had to make sure I got all the one's I liked. Don't let this little body fool you. I eat like a tank! I have eaten 7 assorted donuts in one sitting before. Yes, I have a problem. ha. I need to get back to the gym. I was doing so well before Halloween and all our company arrived. Excuses, excuses I know. It doesn't help that I am in the middle of writing a 15 page research paper right now. Speaking of school, I only have like five more weeks. I am super stoaked. I got a letter in the mail a few days ago, from BYU,  letting me know that I am SMART! Yes! ha. Who would have thought?!? This is what it said:

Dear member Elect,

Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that, by placing in the top 15% of your class at Brigham Young University, you are invited to join Golden Key International Honour Society.

They are holding a member recognition event for this years's new Golden Key members on December 1, 2009 at 5:30pm in the Wilkinson Center, Room 3220 (This means my parents might be able to go to it, if I join )

I haven't decided yet if I am going to graduate school, so I am still deciding if this would be worth doing. $70 is a lot for a starving student! I am leaning more towards yes, just because it would look good on my resume.

Graduation + Anniversary

We graduated last Thursday. It was nice to have both our families come up for it. These are the only pictures my sister posted on facebook, so they are the only pictures I have of graduation. I need to get some pictures from Sheila. Graduation didn't feel that special since we both have one more semester left. It made it even more anti climatic when people asked us what we were doing after graduation and we had to tell them we still have one more semester to get through. It was a pretty cool milestone in our life though, just the fact that we were able to do it together. It was fun having everyone all here. We were able to celebrate for days and spend a lot of time together. We are so grateful to our parents for helping us value education, and all the help we have received throughout our lives to get to this point.

Also, sunday was our big one year anniversary!! :) :) :)
We have had family up here since graduation and they are not leaving till the 6th of September. This made it difficult to get each other cards and stuff so we decided to go to the store together the night before to pick out cards for each other and read them aloud in the store. We got a kick out of it. We picked up some sparkling apple cider on our way out. We slept in on our anniversary and then had a big dinner celebration with all our family (extended family too). It was a good time. Hawaii was our real gift to ourselves, so we didn't feel cheated.

These are some reasons I love my husband so much...

1. Honors his priesthood because he loves me and the Lord so very much (this is the greatest blessing any women could ever ask for)
2. Makes me feel beautiful everyday :)
2. He is so kind, loving, gentle, and very affectionate. PDA doesn't bother him. He always gives me LOTS of kisses and hugs (I love the way he holds me).
3. Is so talented and yet so humble
4. Very Confident-he can do anything, seriously.
5. Smart-reviews shortly before a test and always pulls an A
6. There is not a selfish bone in his body
8. Willing to help out anyway he can with anyone.
9. You can always count on him to be there.
10. Very good listener (this is very helpful for me) and he is a great problem solver
11. Makes sure I know each day that he loves me.
12. He is my best friend and we have so much fun together. We like to be silly a lot. I wouldn't change anything about our relationship. We are very happy and I look forward to many years to come :) I LOVE YOU ADAM TROY TOWNER :)

Seriously?

I was overwhelmed with the horrible stench of B.O. that filled the air as I entered the testing center today. People need to remember to take showers during finals week. It was horrible. Not only did it smell so bad that I thought I was going to pass out from suffication, the ventilation system wasn't working. I had to sit down and endure the hot, stuffy, smelly, room as I took my 100 question multiple choice test. On top of that this kid next to me kept staring at me. He wasn't like checking me out or anything, he was just comtemplating. It kept distracting me though. Anywho, I ended up doing well. Not as well as my last test. Under better circumstances, I GOT A 100% ON MY LAST FINAL. I was pretty stoaked.

Some cooking secrets:
We always like trying new things. Tonight my husband made dinner and I made dessert. He made chicken fettucini with brown sugared carrots. He seasoned the chicken with garlic salt and zesty italian dressing and it was REALLY good. I decided to make creeme cheese brownies and they were amazing. Make your brownies how you like them and then make this cream cheese layer :o)

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (16 ounce) container prepared chocolate frosting
In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and cornstarch until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla until smooth. Pour cream cheese mixture evenly over brownie batter. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until top is lightly browned. Allow to cool, spread with frosting, and cut into bars. Store covered in refrigerator, or freeze in a single layer for up to 2 weeks.

I did it!

I made my mom's famous Sunday roast. It turned out great :) This cheered me up a little bit after watching the disappointing Chargers game.

Good, bad, and funny

Old news but good news:
Utah beat Alabama
Chargers beat the Colts
Texas Longhorns beat the Buckeyes
and Adam and I got the same grades this semester all A's and one A-.

Bad news: This semester we are taking four classes together out of our five and thought we would save some money on books. Nope. We spent $700 on books for this semester! I can't imagine how much it would have been if we were taking all different classes.

Funny News: So the weather sucks in Utah right now. It snowed all day today without stopping once! It was so bad that Adam and I got stuck in it on our way to school. Luckily neighbors noticed our predicament as we were trying to shovel our way out of it and helped us get unstuck.
